We are the Association of Black Educators of New York, Incorporated.

President, Adrian Straker, MS. Ed.

We are an association of concerned educators, leaders, business and community members.

We collectively network, plan, and act to engage and empower the educational and professional success and settings of our students, schools, staff, and community.

We accomplish this through community-based programming, collaborations & partnerships across New York City,  impacting education issues for black children, black families, and ultimately all families. A member of the Education Equity Action Plan Coalition, we work towards fulfilling the Black Studies Curriculum in New York City Public Schools, engaging/informing the NYC community.  Along with General Membership Meetings, our Annual convening events, Education Conference, and Bridge from Africa provide critical perspectives from NYC/NYS Education Stakeholders and share notable views of the diverse NYC student population. ABENY, Inc. annually identifies and distributes scholarship awardees through nearly twenty available scholarships in the ABENY, Inc. Scholarship Application to NYC Public High School Students.

We encourage you to Join Us!
