ABENY Inc. presents our 2021 Virtual Black History Month Opening and Awards. This year we seek to cover the important issue of: "Celebrating Black Voices Past, Present, and Future: A Discussion of Race and Social Justice."

An accurate account of Black History, both past and present, needs to be recognized and communicated, especially during the current challenging era. Our virtual event will feature a panel of thought leaders and practitioners who will provide insight and offer resources, followed by Q and A. Featured panelists include:

Ama Karikari-Yawson: Author of The Talk and Founder and CEO of Milestales Publishing

Mable Robertson, ABENY Board Member and representative to the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE)

Dr. Sandra Fairweather, ABENY Member and current educator within the New York City Department of Education

Mr. Sadiq Ali, ABENY Member, and education thought leader/advocate on education issues impacting young men of color.

Moderator - Adrian Straker M.Ed, ABENY President-Elect

Registration is happening now through Thursday February 4th. This is a free to the public event.

Student voice will be represented by selected winners of ABENY's Black History Month Essay Contest.

We look forward to you joining ABENY Saturday February 6th, 2021. Virtual access links will be provided 12-24 hours prior to the event.
